Schwartz Opens The Niagra Floodgates

And now a little something for the true geeks among us. Jonathan Schwartz, President and COO of Sun Microsystems, has published details on his personal blog of the company's upcoming SPARC processor codenamed "Niagra." With Intel and AMD making such a big fuss lately about dual-core processing, this picture is certain to put things in perspective. 8 cores handling 4 threads each would effectively equal a 32-way computer system on one chip. Now that's power.
